Who is Foodbank?
Foodbank is a not-for-profit food relief organisation with a national footprint. Foodbank has a federated structure, with Members operating in every state and territory.
We believe everyone should have access to good food. We’re here for the everyday Australians who are going without. We are working hard to change that. In 2024, Foodbank sourced 51 million kilos of food and groceries, the equivalent of 92 million meals, from farmers, manufacturers and retailers to make it available to individuals and families in need. This food is distributed through a network of over 2,929 frontline charities nationally, as well as through Foodbank hubs in some states. Foodbank also helps children by providing food for school breakfast clubs to 3,220 primary and high schools, as well as lunch programs in some states.
When it comes to natural disasters such as bushfires, floods and cyclones, Foodbank plays a vital role in disaster preparedness and responsiveness, supporting the work of first responders and emergency services during the crisis phase, as well as giving ongoing assistance to affected communities during the months and years it takes to recover.
