Massimo Bianco is a Horticulturist at South Johnstone Research Facility in Far north Queensland. He started working with the banana team in 2017. After one and a half year working with the team, he took the opportunity to explore and learn about tropical fruit trees. He worked with cacao and jackfruit as main crops and his research focus varied from propagation to post harvest. He rejoined the banana team in 2025, and part of his initial interest is the future of the germplasm collection as part of an important resource for science and industry.
