Kathy is a Principal Experimentalist with the Department of Agriculture and Fisheries, based at Mareeba in North Queensland. She has over 30 years’ experience in research of pre and postharvest fungal diseases of tropical crops. For the past 20 years, Kathy has specialised in foliar and postharvest diseases of banana, with her main research focus being on leaf disease management practices, detection of fungicide resistance and control of crown end rot. She also has expertise in diagnostics of foliar leaf diseases, in particular the Sigatoka pathogens. Kathy is currently leading a new 5 year Hort Innovation funded project: BA21004 Banana Integrated Pest and Disease Management.
