The Australian Banana Growers’ Council (ABGC) is committed to safeguarding Australia’s banana industry through proactive pest and disease management. In partnership with Hort Innovations, our project focuses on the surveillance, control, and containment of serious endemic threats, including Yellow Sigatoka and Bunchy Top Disease.

By enhancing grower knowledge, industry collaboration, and large-scale surveillance, we equip banana producers with the tools and expertise needed for early detection and effective management of key pests and diseases. Our work spans Far North Queensland, the Queensland Southern Biosecurity Zone, and the NSW Bunchy Top Control Zone, ensuring a strong national response to industry threats.
