Australian Banana Industry Congress 2027
Homegrown, world class. Put your brand in front of the growers, researchers and supply chain businesses shaping Australia’s banana industry.
Banana Congress Chair
The Australian Banana Industry Congress returns in 2027, with growers and our vibrant supply chain at the heart of a refreshed industry event.
Congress has a rich history, much like the banana industry itself. But we recognise that the 2027 event must continue evolving to reflect the industry we are today. We are a powerful, diverse and modern industry – proud of our roots, but always looking ahead.
As a banana grower, I know how important it is that our industry has opportunities to come together. I’ve experienced this event as a delegate and have spoken to countless exhibitors and sponsors over the years. Working closely with our Program Committee, I believe we have a strong sense of the event’s strengths and where we can look to improve.
Right across our supply chain, from farm to table, people work tirelessly to deliver a world-class product that is proudly Australian. As we face new challenges and look for new ways to tackle them, I think the right event still has the power to bring industry together, to share ideas and shape what comes next. The old cliché rings true: we’re stronger together.
We have listened to feedback from our valued sponsors and exhibitors and are continuing to look for ways to improve your Congress experience too. In 2027, the tradeshow will be more interactive, sponsorship opportunities will be more diverse, and we are introducing new ways for delegates to engage with exhibitors and with each other. Most importantly, we want Congress to be a place where more growers can connect directly with the businesses, researchers, suppliers and organisations that support our industry.
The 2027 program will feature industry experts and thought leaders sharing insights into the latest research, innovation, technology, market developments, sustainability and emerging opportunities across the banana supply chain. It will provide delegates with opportunities to discover new products and services, build valuable industry connections and reconnect with colleagues and friends.
And while we will tackle the important issues facing our industry, Congress will also celebrate the people behind it. A vibrant social program will provide plenty of opportunities to connect, relax and recognise the achievements of the growers, businesses and organisations helping to drive the Australian banana industry forward.
On behalf of the Australian Banana Growers’ Council and the 2027 Congress Planning Committee, I invite you to be part of Banana Congress 2027. We look forward to welcoming you and showcasing the opportunities that come with being part of Australia’s banana industry.

Bananas are Australia's number one selling supermarket product by volume.
Over five million bananas are eaten every day, and every one of them is grown in Australia.
In the year to June 2025, production was approximately 369,000 tonnes of fresh bananas.
There are around 500 banana farms in Australia, most of them family-run.
In the year ending June 2025, production was worth almost $720 million.
The industry is worth $1.3 billion to the Australian economy and supports some 18,000 jobs.
