As producers of one of Australia’s favourite foods, banana growers and our industry partners are passionate about fresh food and fresh ideas.
That’s why we’re so enthusiastic about the 2015 Banana Industry Congress and why I am so pleased to be able to tell you about our premier biennial event.
We’ve taken a fresh look at the Banana Industry Congress and come up with some great new plans.
This will be the first time we bring the Congress to a capital city. The Banana Industry Congress will be held from Wednesday 17 June to Saturday 20 June 2015 at Crown Promenade, Melbourne, Victoria.
The venue, at Southbank in the city’s CBD, is a wonderful location with excellent exhibition, conference and meeting-room facilities as well as entertainment spaces for socialising and networking. Our industry’s gala event, the Banana Industry Ball, will be a memorable night, held in the magnificent Palladium at Crown ballroom.
We will have a more interactive program for this Congress. Our event will be held just after the scheduled opening of the new Melbourne Wholesale Fruit, Vegetable and Flower Market and there will be a range of supply-chain activities to see.
There will also be plenty to see and do for those who are accompanying delegates with our Partners’ Program.
I’m sure you’ll agree, this event will be a great experience for all, providing fantastic opportunities for our sponsors and exhibitors to meet with our industry’s key decision makers.
The event will be the 11th Banana Industry Congress and my first as Chairman of the Congress Management Committee. On behalf of the Committee and my fellow Directors of event host, the Australian Banana Growers’ Council, we invite you to join us for this enjoyable and rewarding event.
As we host Congress only every two years, please take this opportunity to be involved. Congress is renowned for the value it adds to our industry and I can assure you our 2015 event will carry on the tradition.
